As so many people have written wondering why the All Stripped Down acoustic collection was suddenly removed from the Miromart store, here is an explanation.

Firstly, when the 6-album was originally released, the intention was to make it available only for a limited period of time. One of the primary objectives was to enable fans to take away a slickly-recorded version of one of my solo, unaccompanied acoustic performances. As such, I wanted to incorporate elements of ‘there are only so many tickets available for the show’, and felt that putting a time limit on the collection’s availability helped to capture this idea.

There was also another reason for the sudden removal of the collection from the download section of the Miromart store: quite simply, we weren’t expecting the level of traffic that was generated when the shop was launched! Because of the numerous preview and download options, so many tracks were being streamed and downloaded simultaneously that our server was in danger of downing tools and going to the pub for a drink.

Since its withdrawal from the shop, there have already been a number of ‘How can I get hold of the ASD collection?’ requests. In response to this, we will probably be putting out a limited edition data DVD version of the entire collection at some point in the near future. This will contain all six albums in 320kb/s mp3 format, together with printable artwork, so you will have the choice of listening on your computer or ripping audio CDs at your leisure.
