After the heart-wrenching images of the Haitian earthquake disaster, I was saddened over the weekend by news of the devastating quake in Chile which has already cost more than 700 lives.

I'm sure, like me, everyone will want to help in any small way, by contributing to any fund dedicated to aiding the people of Chile. I was horrified to learn about the numerous scam operations that materialised after the Haitian disaster.Fakers pertaining to be charitable organisations, procuring donations and stealing the money. Inevitably, these types will once again be on the prowl, so ensure that you check out the credentials of an organisation before making a donation. Our thoughts may be with the people in need, but there are many less scrupulous indivisuals out there willing to exploit the charitable nature of others.
